The House Oversight Committee will have four powerhouse lawmakers joining their ranks soon.Â
On Tuesday, Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley and Ro Khanna earned a spot on the investigative committee, Politico reports. All four new members have been extremely critical and outspoken of President Donald Trump and the administration. They’ve also promised to launch a mass investigation into the president and his administration.
This committee was going to be lit just bc of its jurisdiction, but now very much more so because of these new members.

Tlaib recently drew criticism for saying “impeach the motherf—” in reference to Trump at an event for the progressive advocacy group, MoveOn.org.Â
Rep. Elijah Cummings, the chairman of the Oversight Committee, told Politico that he wasn’t concerned about the four lawmakers and that he is “excited” for them to join.Â
“If I based the choices going on the committee based on what people said or their reputations or whatever, I probably wouldn’t have a committee,” Cummings said to Politico. “I am excited—there were a lot of people that wanted to come on our committee.”Â
The Oversight Committee is the main investigative committee for the House. Now that the Democrats have taken control of the House, it is expected to begin investigations on Trump and the administration. According to Axios, the committee has already acquired 85 potential investigations against Trump.
The Hill also reports that Ocasio Cortez received a seat at the House Financial Services Committee, which supervises banks and the financial sector.Â
