Fenty Beauty – Is it worth the hype?
Fenty Beauty is undoubtedly one of the most hotly anticipated beauty launches of the year. It’s launched and it’s everywhere. If the advertisement wasn’t enough to get any beauty lover overly excited, the sheer amount of coverage the launch has attracted surely must have lured in even the most strongly willed. Rhianna looks insane and her beauty line brings something a little bit different to the table. I’ve sifted through an (admittedly) huge number of Fenty reviews and there seems to be a few standout products in the range that I for one, couldn’t resist. So, what’s worth the hype?
Soft Matte Longwear Foundation
The whole concept behind the “Fenty Face” is a soft, matte base. No glow? Absolutely not, Rhianna says the key to creating any makeup look is a matte base, and strategically adding glow afterwards only where you want it. There’s also huge a shade range that promises even harder to match skin tones – albino to dark skins – a perfect match. Bold claims from Rhianna, but the sheer variety of shade range cannot be disputed.
Magnetic Match Stix Skinsticks
These come in matte and shimmers and again, in a huge shade range. Totally multipurpose, you can use these to highlight, contour, conceal – you name it. And if the packaging couldn’t be any more tactile, they’re magnetic too. So obviously you need more than one.
Killawatt Freestyle Highlighters
These cream-powder hybrid highlighters look beautiful. They come in six different shades, you’ve probably seen Trophy Wife, a pure gold highlighter that’s looks insane on the skin, all over Instagram.
Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer
Interestingly, there’s only one lip product in the entire range that promises “explosive shine” in one universal shade. Perhaps we’ll see Rihanna expand her lip offering in the future, but until then Gloss Bomb looks to be a perfect, rosey nude shade.
