This Thursday HC Aberdeen all gathered together wrapped up to the nines to head down and watch Aberdeen’s annual fireworks. These fireworks are part of Aberdeen’s Winter Festival and they kick of the council’s seasonal calendar at Aberdeen Beach. Every year on November 5th, across Britain, Guy Fawkes night is celebrated. This celebration is distantly related to the foiled Gunpowder Plot on the Houses of Parliament but now also known as Bonfire or Fireworks night, it is now largely just an excuse for people to gather to let off fireworks, build bonfires and write their names with sparklers. The theme of the fireworks this year was movie theme tunes and we heard soundtracks from Minions and Spiderman among others accompanied by a beautiful fireworks display. Unfortunately it was pretty rainy and foggy so the higher fireworks were obstructed a little from view but a great social was had by all and as always it was fantastic to get together as a chapter whatever the occasion!Â
