Over the past few weeks a certain celebrity has been in the media a little more than I would like. From his twitter rants to his misogynistic lyrics, Iâve had enough of Kanye West.
However, through all this stupidity something really stood out to me. Remember this tweet by Amber Rose?
This was Kanyeâs response:Â
Not that I care about Kanye Westâs sex life but this twitter transaction between the two stars really got my attention. Mainly, it was Kanyeâs response to Amberâs comment. We all know Kanye doesnât care what people think of him, so why was he so quick to reject Amberâs statement? Â Even if Amber was lying, she knew that her tweet would shut Kanye down, which brings up the question; are we ashamed of our sexual nature?
From a young age, Iâm sure most of us were all told about abstinence and the dangers that come with sex. According to Medical Research Council, about 40% of men and women learn about sex from school, which is all fine and dandy, but sex ed doesnât teach about pleasure spots and different sex techniques (I really wouldnât expect them to teach about the location of the G-spot anyway). So, for more R-rated information, people result to confiding in friends, pornography, the internet or just learning from their sexual experiences. The problem with acquiring information in this way is that it can be rather sexist and inaccurate.
If you look at pornographic sites or any other informational platform about sexual stimulation, anal pleasure is generally reserved for women and homosexuals. Even though there is irrefutable research that proves that men receive pleasure for anus stimulation, itâs for some reason still seen as taboo for a heterosexual man to engage in butt activities.
Regardless of social norms, Iâm quite disappointed in Kanye and his reaction. This was the moment for the âNo Care Kingâ to own his sexuality. Iâm pretty sure that behind closed doors heâs not the only straight man who likes to have his anus stimulated and frankly, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that!Â
