Woot Woot! Miss Emily Beever – Campus Celeb!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Aberdeen chapter.

Name- Emily Beever

Age- 24

Hometown- Kalgoorlie, AUS/Carrickfergus, NI (long story!)

HC: What did you study at Uni (not too sure if you’re still at Uni or like Marc on a sabbatical)

EB: I graduated last summer but I studied German and International Relations.

HC: Why did you run for student president? And what will you bring to the role?

EB:  I ran because I still wanted to make change and see the campaigns I’d started to the end. I’m really passionate about the work we do and the potential there is for students to influence their time at uni so I hope that comes through!

HC: Do you have any idols? If so, who are they and why do you look up to them?

EB: Not sure about one particular idol but I’m inspired by various people everyday, whether it is other sabbs or feminist activists I hear about on twitter.

HC: How would a friend describe you in 3 words?

EB: Fiery, passionate, dedicated

HC: What are some of your other hobbies? And why do you enjoy them?

EB: I enjoy keeping fit and volunteering. Working out is great for de-stressing!

HC: What would be your advice for anyone thinking of running for student Pres in the future?

EB:  Go for it! I was really nervous before the elections but I’m so glad I went for it. Don’t doubt yourself either.
