Year: Junior
Major: Emergency Management Administration
Hometown: Hempstead, NY
Relationship status:Â Single
HC: What are some qualities you like in a significant other?
Dan: I like a girl that is honest and not afraid to embarrass herself. When a girl has confidence, a good sense of humor, can run with a joke, has a genuine care for others, is smart, and is motivated, she can hook me in a second.
HC: What are some things that turn you off?
Dan: Some things that turn me off are ignorance, a lack of appreciation, when people are consistently rude, or when things get blown out of proportion.
HC: Who’s your celebrity crush?
Dan: I have always had a crush on Natalie Portman.
HC: What’s the first thing you notice in someone you’re into?Â
Dan: That’s a good question. I guess the first few conversations can make or break the possibility for anything else. I really like to see what we talk about, if the girl is comfortable talking to me, and if she is smiling. If she can hold the conversation and we’re having fun, then she’s got my attention.
HC: What are you involved in on campus?
Dan: I am the current president of the Delta Chi Fraternity, I teach a special needs computer class every Wednesday night, and I occasionally teach CPR and First Aid to the employees of Campus Rec.
HC: Is there anyone on campus/home that you look up to and admire?
Dan: I would have to say my sister Kate. She has never failed to give me bad advice, she doesn’t let others take advantage of her, and she isn’t afraid to tell people how it is. She is very genuine, she is unbelievably intelligent, funny, driven, and she holds herself to such high standards that she never fails to meet. I can only hope one day I can be as incredible as she is.
HC: If you could have dinner with anyone living or passed who would it be?
Dan: My grandparents. I was extremely close with them but I lost my Nana and my Pops when I was pretty young, and I have so many questions that I would love to ask them. It would also be really interesting to see what they thought of me now.
HC: What’s your favorite food?
Dan: I really like barbecue, chicken to be specific I guess. Especially when I’m down at the beach over the summer just hanging out with my family and friends.
HC: What’s your favorite song?
Dan: This is tough for me because I like a lot of music but my favorite song is probably Chariot by Gavin DeGraw. It’s just a song that I don’t need to listen to all the time, but I never skip it when it comes on.
HC: What’s your favorite movie?
Dan: I love watching movies so I have a bunch of favorites, but if I had to pick one it would probably have to be Forrest Gump.
HC: Do you have any strange habits?Â
Dan: I like to play barefoot basketball in my driveway sometimes. I’m just too lazy to put on shoes when it’s nice out.
HC: How would your friends describe you?
Dan: My friends have a tendency to make fun of each other without end, but they would probably say that I am patriotic, enthusiastic, outgoing, and that I love to have fun.

HC: What’s one thing you can’t live without?
Dan: The people in my life, such as my friends and family, are the most important part of my existence. I would be nothing without all of the relationships that I have made over the years.
HC: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Dan: In five years I see myself with a steady income, I have hopefully met the woman that I am going to spend the rest of my life with, and I am using this time to travel and learn about as much as I can. I don’t like to think about the future because there are so many possibilities that could happen. My main priority in this life though is going to be a good father, husband, and experience as much as I can, so if I’m doing something along those lines in five years, then that’s all that matters to me.
HC:Â Got a random fact?
Dan: I am one of five kids and we have the same colored eyes.
