Although it’s only the second week of November, that doesn’t mean that you can’t begin feeling the joy of the holiday season. To save you from the next mental breakdown, here’s a compiled list of easy ways to stay smart and prepared this holiday season.
-
START YOUR SHOPPING EARLY:
If you don’t want to be one of those people stuck in the mall parking lot all traffic or crazy long checkout lines, then definitely try and start with the gift picking now. If you honestly feel like Black Friday shopping can rescue you from breaking the bank, be smart about your selections. Make a list of electronic device essentials that will have amazing discounts and blockbusters. Prioritize needs and wants on these items because nobody wants to fight Becky for that flat screen.
2. Christmas Decorations:
Please don’t be “that person” to set off the dorm room fire alarms at 2 am, so be sure to check your dorm decor regulations before buying some holiday string lights (... especially if they’re on sale). Target’s designated Christmas Shop has inexpensive decorations to make your room feel a little bit more like home.
3. Christmas Music:
We all know you want to have your Mariah Carey moment on your morning commute, so here are some great Christmas music selections from some of your favorite platforms:
Pandora Radio currently offers forty holiday playlists right at your fingertips. Simply find a playlist that tickles your fancy and enjoy your Glee moment.
Spotify has multiple categories of your fave holiday jams that are just waiting for you to put on full blast. If you’re more of a country Christmas listener, go for it! Perhaps you’re more of a cult Christmas classic kind of fellow. Bottom line, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Sirius XM Radio (for those who still have your free trial) there are currently five holiday-themed stations: Holiday Soul, Country Christmas, Holiday Pops, Holly, and Navidad. Tune your radio to one that makes you wanna break out into a dance party in your car, but make sure to keep both of those hands on that wheel.
4. Appreciate Quality Time with Family and Friends:
Even though everyone can get a little caught up in buying only the very best gifts for all the special people in your life, take this time off to sit down and enjoy each other’s company. If that means listening to uncle Jim’s stories over and over again, be thankful you get to hear them again and again (… BUT for real just pretend you haven’t heard them before). Worst comes to worst if your family gets a little boring… play cards against humanity can’t be any worse
HOPE THIS HELPS YOUR HOLIDAY STRESS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
