I hope that everyone is safe and doing well during this time. With the transition to online classes and social distancing, you might be feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and/or bored. Luckily, there’s still a lot of fun activities that you can do that’ll hopefully help you feel less bored and more relaxed.Â
Â
- Learn how to draw something and/or do some coloring
-
Drawing can be a really relaxing and fun activity. There’s a lot of free drawing tutorials online, so you can learn to draw anything, from a rose to your favorite Disney character. If drawing’s not your thing, you could also print out a free coloring sheet online, or color in a coloring book that you already own.Â
Â
- Start watching a new tv show/movie
-
There’s a lot of great tv shows and movies out there. You could watch some by yourself, or have a movie night with your friends where you all watch the same show/movie together while on a Zoom call.
- Read a book
-
While attending classes and reading books for school, I didn’t really have much time to read for fun. Now that I have more time, I’ve been reading more, and I’ve really enjoyed it. You can reread one of your old favorites, or pick up a new book. Maybe you could even start a mini book club with a couple of your friends, where you all read the same book, and then discuss it through Zoom.
- Participate in GIVE-19
-
GIVE-19 started to spread positivity in this time of uncertainty. They encourage people to give 19, by doing anything, such as writing 19 letters to send to health care workers, 19 drawings to send to your friends, etc… For more information about the movement, go to https://www.give19.org/stories
Â
- Watch the Zoo Atlanta Panda Cam
-
If you love animals, then be excited because Zoo Atlanta has a free panda cam on their website! To watch the pandas go to https://zooatlanta.org/panda-cam/
Â
- Exercise
-
There’s a lot of ways for you to stay healthy while social distancing! You could go on a walk, do yoga, etc… There are free yoga lessons on YouTube, and if you attend Agnes Scott there’s yoga on Zoom several times per week, as well as Zumba on Tuesdays. For more information about these campus events go to https://www.instagram.com/ascrecreation/?hl=en
Hopefully, this list gives you an idea of activities you can do while social distancing. Just because we’re at home, doesn’t mean that you can’t do something that you enjoy. Whether you decide to draw, do yoga, or something else, I hope that you have fun with it, and stay positive and healthy during this time. Â
