Jennie Kriznik is a freshman from Pittsburgh, Penn. studying biology/pre-med here at The University of Alabama. Kriznik excels in academics and is highly involved in campus organizations. However, one quality that earns her the title of our Campus Celebrity is her giving heart and dedication in philanthropy.
In only her second semester at UA, Kriznik has volunteered in many philanthropy events on campus and in the area. Philanthropy is not something new to her though. She has contributed throughout her life and currently serves as her sorority’s Philanthropy Chair and a member of several on campus initiatives like UA for St. Jude’s. Her hard work and big heart is inspiring to all of us!Â

Q: What is your favorite thing about UA?A: “I love the sense of pride, community and opportunity at our school. The students, staff and alumni are all involved, and everyone is just so friendly!”
Q: What inspired you to get involved with so many aspects of philanthropy? A: “My philosophy is: If I am able to help someone in some way, why not do it? God has given me talents and has called me to serve, and I enjoy using my talents to make a positive impact on other people’s lives. The people I help have made more of an impact on me than I could ever imagine having on them. I love hearing their stories about who they are, where they came from and just making those connections with them.”
Q: As only a freshman in college, you have already accomplished so much. However, what are your ultimate goals in your career and life?
A: “My ultimate career goal is to become a pediatric oncologist and make an impact in the field of medical research. My life goals include: running a full marathon and a triathlon, start a family (eventually) and to just leave a positive impact on the world. “
Q: So you’re involved with UA’s upcoming Dance Marathon in March. What has that been like, and how can other UA students get involved?
A: “Because I am a freshman, this is my first UADM experience so I will only be making an impact by being on this year’s Morale Crew (go purple team!). I have not been involved in the process of coordinating, planning, fundraising or anything like that, so shout out to our staff and executive board for doing such an amazing job so far! You guys get all the credit, and I’m so happy to be working with all of you! They have an awesome and fun-filled day planned for everyone, so every should sign up by going to uadm.ua.org!
