Roll Tide Her Campus! College football season is back, and as much as I love football season, I’m not a fan of the sweltering Alabama heat. Here are four tips to help you survive all four quarters in Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Hydrate or Die-drate
From Friday night band parties to tailgating on the Quad, it can be easy to forget the importance of staying hydrated. To combat that feeling of dehydration, I’d recommend stepping up your hydration levels by including an electrolyte solution, such as Pedialyte or Liquid I.V., in your water. Adding an electrolyte solution to your water can help your body stay hydrated throughout the day and balance your pH levels. I also recommend bringing an empty water bottle to the game and filling it at the water fountains or a water station. It’s both easy and affordable.
Pull Out the Power Pony
If you are on TikTok then I hope you know what I mean when I say it’s “Berries and Cream” season. Yes, I am recommending a ponytail for game day. My personal go-to look is a lightly curled and teased power pony, but a low pony is another cute go-to. Just don’t forget to put sunscreen where your skin is showing, like your arms and the tops of your shoulders.
Sweat Proof Make-Up
My mom always told me, “You don’t sweat, you shine.” So, whether you sweat or shine on game days, it’s important to make sure your makeup is set and sealed. For the perfect game day look, I would recommend a light BB cream with SPF in it and concealing only where necessary. I would also recommend finding a good setting spray to make your look last all the way through the fourth quarter!Â
Bama Fans Bring Fans
Sunny days in early and mid-September can become brutally hot, especially now that Bryant-Denny Stadium is at full capacity. A fan can be a valuable item that people often don’t think to bring to games. Either a portable battery powered fan or a handheld paper fan is a simple way to keep you cooled down on the spot. Purse-sized battery powered fans can be found at Home Depot, or if you are in a sorority, it’s common for sororities to have cute paper fans for game days!
