How to Look Hot When It’s Cold: Campus Fall Fashion

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Alabama chapter.

Just because the temperatures are dropping, doesn’t mean style is.  In my opinion, fall is the best season for fashion–there are many reoccurring trends and ways to layers pieces to keep you up to date in the cold weather.  Layering and bundling up is a MUST, but it’s an art to do it – while staying fashionably savvy.

At the Capstone we have many women who have mastered the art of fall sophistication and have learned how to adapt to the chilly temperatures.

Featured below is Courtnee Davis, a senior from Hoover Alabama, majoring in Fashion Retailing.

This is an example of Courtnee’s “Campus Look”

As seen, Courtnee has perfected the layered look, with a simple combination

of boots, tights, scarf, shorts, and a nice weather jacket.

As well as a “Campus Look” you MUST know how to look chic and keep warm while

enjoying a night out.

On 11/28/11 HerCampus Alabama hosted a fab launch party at Rounders.
Check out how Courtnee handled her “Night Out” look.

Style is personal, along with the trends that Courtnee has portrayed in her two unique styles there are many essentials that you can use throughout the winter season.

Chic Scarfs

Heeled & Combat Boots
Coats (trench and pea coats)
Cardigans & Sweaters
And much more!! Remember to layer!

As a parting favor, here is a wonderful quote to live by and a favorite of Miss Davis:

“Creativity is essentially a lonely art.  An even lonlier struggle. To some a blessing. To others a curse. It is in reality the ability to reach inside yourself and drag forth from your soul an idea”
