Valentine’s Day is a holiday filled with love and togetherness, but for some it can be filled with loneliness and sadness. But just because you don’t have a partner, doesn’t mean you have to dread Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day can be celebrated through showing love for others whether that is friends or family — not just your boyfriend. Galantine’s Day is just as important as Valentine’s Day so here are a few ways I like to celebrate Galantine’s Day!
Have a Picnic
This option is ideal for a friend group of single and taken girls! A picnic can be done during Galantine’s Day on February 13th and is a great opportunity to dress up and take cute pictures! I mean, who doesn’t love a cute photoshoot? Everyone can pitch in for the picnic through different snacks, drinks, decorations and even a charcuterie board!
Movie Night
What screams Galantine’s movie night than romantic comedies do? A movie night is the perfect, last minute, chill option and can create so many fun memories. Some ideas for a movie night include adding chocolate to the popcorn or picking the movie out of a hat if your friend group is as indecisive as mine is.
Baking Competition
Valentine’s is a holiday revolving around sweets and fun treats! Because of this, stores like Target are filled with every kind of candy and baking treat you can think of! There are fun molds to make these treats in and you can even pair your tasty treat with a drink!
All of These
For a full Galantine’s Day adventure, these options can fit into one day! You can have a lunch picnic, do the baking competition in the afternoon, and eat all the yummy treats during your movie night!
Just because Valentine’s Day is dreadful doesn’t mean that Galantine’s must be! This year, I encourage you to reach out to your friends to celebrate Galantine’s with them! It is important to show others that we love them, and we can do this through any of these activities or by simple acts of kindness, such as a Galantine’s basket filled with candy if you don’t have time for an event. This Valentine’s season, I encourage you to change your mindset and celebrate Galantine’s Day!
