1. What is your major, year and expected graduation date?
I’m a freshman studying political science with a concentration in American politics. I am hopefully graduating in 2018.
2. What does your role as Senator of the UAlbany Student Association involve?
My role as Senator of the UAlbany Student Association involves representing the student body at-large. I am here to make sure that the students’ voice is heard. I ran this past February in a special election because I was empowered by the students’ voice. There are so many students with so many creative and innovative ideas, dreams, goals, and hopes and I want to help make them a reality. The student body has the potential to do some many things and I want to help!
3. Why is it important for students to get involved with the Student Association?
Its important for students to get involved with Student Association so they can get involved on campus. The Student Association connects different mediums on campus to provide opportunities to students. The Student Association provides resources to student groups and individuals to better the student body of the whole. There are so many opportunities to get involved! Whether its applying for an internship or attending Parkfest, you can definitely get involved!
4. Are you involved in any other activities on campus or outside of school?
I am involved with College Democrats and Great Danes for Israel. College Democrats has opened so many doors for me. Through College Democrats, I have gained an internship and so many connections. I am currently on the e-board for Great Danes for Israel, where I was able to work with different organizations for the pro-Israel cause. Outside of school, I am involved with the AAUW, where I am attending a conference in DC this summer for women student leaders. I am also involved with AIPAC, where I attend conference to further the US-Israel relationship.
5. What happens during an average week at the Student Association?
There is no average week at the Student Association! This week has been hectic with the appeals that have been happening with the student groups and the budget. There is a senate meeting every Wednesday at 8:45pm and those can be pretty interesting!
6. What are some of your highlights of being a UAlbany Student?
A highlight of being a UAlbany Student is connecting with students with similar interests as me. Whether its attending a Colleges Dems meetings or meeting someone new in the elevator on Indian Quad, there are so many relatable people that I am so happy to have met and connected with!
7. What do you plan to do once you graduate?
It’s never too soon to start planning but I’m still a freshman so I still have time!
8. Finally, how do you feel about the result of the Student Activity re-vote?
The numbers speak the truth
