As you may already know, I’m a bibliophile; a person who collects or has a love of books. That’s why I decided to make this list, for all my fellow book lovers out there. I have a lot of book related apps, but here are some of my favorites:
- Goodreads: this app is perfect for keeping track of the books you’ve read, the books you want to read or the books you are currently reading. You can keep updating it while you are reading the book, mark up pages, make comments on what you are reading, review books, get recommendations, and more!
- Libby (OverDrive): this one is my all-time favorite! And I highly recommend it. But you can only use it if you have a library card. Libby is the perfect way to borrow eBooks and audiobooks from your library, with just a click. I have three library cards; my card, one that I friend is sharing with me, and the other one I got it as a non-resident through my cousin. So I have access to three libraries; when I combine them all, I have access to more than 48,000 books. With this app, you can borrow books from the library, read samples, tag the book as read/good/bad privately, and put books on hold.
- Kindle and iBooks: I placed them together because they are a tool for you to read books on your electronic device. I use my iPad for both of them. They are the perfect way to carry my eBooks around! Although I’m always carrying a physical book in my purse.
- Audible: I don’t use it anymore. I got the free trial, and it’s great, but it’s not for me. I mean, I have many audiobooks to choose from the library through the Libby app. But I decided to included it on this list, just in case someone would like to try it.
- Wattpad: as they say, the best place to read and share stories. You can read any story you want and if you like to write, you can share your stories as well. So this app is perfect for readers and writers.
- Instagram: I know what you are probably thinking… what? Instagram? Yes, Instagram! Or as many bookworms refer to it: Bookstagram. This app is a great way to interact with fellow book lovers. I’ve meet so many wonderful people from the book community! Instagram is just a perfect tool for you to share or see book photos and reviews.
As you can see, I included apps for physical books, eBooks and audiobooks. Some people just like to read physical books, some people think listening to audiobooks is cheating… but I’m not here to judge, I just like to read! That’s the important thing, so I’m okay with any of them. Just sit back, enjoy your book, and always remember: we all have different taste in books and that’s a beautiful thing!
