Looking for a good restaurant to go to with a friend, the parents, or on a date? These are seven restaurants that you must try as a DC resident. Whether you are looking for a light brunch or a night full of tapas, these are arguably the best of the best!
1. Bodega in Georgetown. This tapas restaurant is great if you want to round up a bunch of friends. You’ll be sure to find yourself dining for at least two hours, but the you’ll enjoy interesting combinations and have opportunities to try foods that you wouldn’t have otherwise ordered. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also pretty cool and if you are 21 it will be even better.
Â
2. Open City in Adams Morgan. This restaurant is perfect for brunch with the parents, or a date! The menu offers a range of items which makes it easy for anyone to find something that they will enjoy. The restaurant has a young vibe, which is very fitting for Adams Morgan. If you’re going on a date, couple your trip with a walk through the zoo, it’s just up the road!
Â
3. Founding Farmers in Foggy Bottom. This restaurant is a great place to take anyone. This restaurant is a Certified Green restaurant and they are dedicated to serving fresh food. You can enjoy a light brunch, or just go for the chicken and waffles- but whatever you order, you will find yourself itching to return for brunch the next weekend. Â
Â
4. Paper Moon in Georgetown. Fried ravioli…. Need we say more? This restaurant is a little bit on the nicer side (for college students). It would be perfect for a date and then a nice walk around the Georgetown waterfront. Just whatever you do please get the fried ravioli as an appetizer.Â
Â
5. Agora in Dupont Circle. If you are going to go here it must be for brunch. If you’re into Mediterranean cuisine you will love Agora. It is always nice to spice up a brunch by not going with the usual American breakfast/lunch options. Â
Â
6. La Tomate in Dupont Circle. This restaurant is great to visit during the warmer weather. Ask to be seated outside and you may be lucky enough to witness the violin player who stands across the street. This restaurant offers light Italian cuisine. When you finish you may have room for some baked goods from Firehook bakery, right down the street.Â
Â
7. Filomena in Georgetown. Do you like homemade pasta? Most likely you do. Take your parents here next time they are in town. Its a little bit on the pricey side, but I promise your parents will love it and so will you. Â
