Spotify has a wide variety of playlists and it can sometimes be overwhelming trying to find one. Here are the best playlists for your daily/weekly routine.
Getting ready for class: Even if you don’t shower in the morning, Songs to Sing in the Shower is a great morning playlist. I know for me, talking keeps me awake, so if this is true for you too, singing will help wake you up and keep you awake. With songs like “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes and “Wannabe” by the Spice Girls, it’ll put you in a good mood too.
Walking between classes: 10 minutes isn’t exactly a lot of time – two full songs, three at most, making this a great time to listen to the Discover Weekly playlist or a New Music one. Most people decide if they like a song without listening to the full song, so with this playlist you can go through a bunch of options in a short period of time and (hopefully) find a song or two that you really like.
Doing homework: Granted, not everyone likes to listen to music while they study but if you do, this is the best time for some slower throwbacks. I just discovered Soft Pop Hits and it features Adele, John Mayer, and Ed Sheeran – a.k.a. prime study music.
Going to the gym: My normal go-to has pretty consistently been Cardio. It’s a lot of recent music and for the most part good, but sometimes has slower songs. The other playlist I just started to use is Hit the Gym Hard. This one is still pretty short so not great for longer workouts but is a lot better if you want to blast music and really tune out while you work out.
Hanging out with friends: For this, Pop Chillout is my favorite by far. It’s a great mix of current hits and music that’s easy to listen to and your friends will think you’re a great DJ if you put this on. Â
Friday night: If you’re feeling throwbacks, Throwback Dance Party is full of great songs to get you in the party mood, but if you want more current hits Party Hits is a lot of new pump-up songs.
Pro-tip: Spotify offers a free trial period and then you can switch to a student account which is only $5/month.
