EL: Megabytes, because I’ve been going there since I was in the 10th grade when I was in the film program here at AU–the menu and the people that work there are all still the same.
HCAU: What was the most interesting part of your summer?
EL: Making the latest music video for “See You Move”, we worked on it all summer and actually went to the studio and upped our production value a lot from past videos. The video just came out last week.
HCAU: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?Â
EL: I think I’ll be making more passion projects rather than for money, but hopefully I’ll be working in the entertainment business either on the marketing or film side. And if that doesn’t work out, my mom works at the Career Center here at AU so I can always go to her.Â
HCAU: What got you interested in making music?
EL: I started in the 10th grade with a “Sexy Back” parody called “Recycle Back” and teachers all over the country started emailing me and asking if they could use it to promote recycling in their classes. My senior year, I made a music video called “Senior Swag”, which was a compilation of all of the songs that were popular my senior year and we ended up playing it at our senior banquet.Â
I also made a “College Swag” video the first year here at AU and it actually made it onto Bro Bible…
HCAU: When did you move on from parodies?
EL: I made my first “Skinny” video right after high school. The next year we made “Too Ratchet” and then me Jew Chainz and Mu$cles performed at Cafe Asia. The latest video that came out a week ago and has 10,000 views already and we recorded with an audio engineer and increased the production value, rented out a studio, got props and organized big groups of people in multiple locations.
HCAU: How serious are you about your music?
EL: I don’t take myself seriously, I’m not trying to be a rapper. I’m just messing around, being funny and having fun. I don’t actually think I have too many girls or too much money or need to take a “time out,” it’s all just fun.Â
HCAU: Give us the exclusive on the next “Skinny Genez” project.
EL: The next song that me and Kirky F and some other people being featured, the song is going to be called “Netflix and Chill”. We’ve found the beat already and are working on the lyrics.Â
