That’s right, folks. Our actual favorite former first lady Hillary Clinton herself will be coming on to our campus to speak at graduation this year. For those of you graduating from SPA this year, everyone at AU is jealous. For everyone graduating from another school—better try to change your major in these last few weeks.
William Reilly had been confirmed for the commencement speech a few weeks ago but he had other commitments that were priority over our graduation. Although the former Environmental Protection Agency administrator would’ve given a fantastic speech, I don’t think that anyone would complain about his replacement that AU snagged last minute due to a vacancy in the politician’s schedule and her commitment to the education of today’s youth. And we can’t wait—who doesn’t love Hillary?!
For those of you that will be here after finals and love the former secretary of state/possible first female president, guest tickets are not required for the School of Public Affairs. They do however ask that students only bring up to seven guests, so get there early! Commencement is set to take place for SPA at 9 a.m. on May 9, so mark your calendars and get your Ready For Hillary posters out because this is a truly unique opportunity for AU students.
