Hello Collegiates,
Well I am back on American soil and I am missing absolutely everything about London, except the value of the GB pound against the US dollar.  The history, architecture, museums, food, shopping, those gorgeous accents and the easy accessibility to other countries are things that I miss most. However the most important news to share since my last blog is an update about a very special night three days before I left London. In my last blog, “Where in the World is Kate?” I talked about my number one mission while in London and that was to see Kate Middleton, my absolute favorite royal in the world. After doing a bit of research, I found out that Kate and William would be attending the premier of the David Attenborough film, Alive, at the Natural History Museum, a short ten-minute walk from my flat. So on that frigid December evening, I dragged my friend Meredith (such a good sport!) to wait outside the gates so I could finally capture a glimpse of my beloved Duchess.  Â

After anxiously waiting for an hour and a half, sirens began blaring and I knew the glamourous couple were about to arrive. With security details both in front and behind the royal ride, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge pulled up to the front entrance in their chauffeured driven Bentley.

My knees went weak at the thought of seeing Kate exit the car. I was in such shock that I did not take my finger off the capture button on my iphone, and I am thrilled to say I caught every single second of the royal couple’s arrival on camera.
Oh and btw, did I mention when William got out of the car we made eye contact? And because of my inability to take my finger off the capture button on my phone, I have the goods to prove it. Just saying…
(See that eye contact? He’s staring right at me!)
(Look, it’s the back of Kate’s head!)
(Kate being escorted into the museum–look at that dress!)
When I called my mom to tell her about my encounter I was speechless, and I could not get a coherent sentence out of my mouth. For me there was no better way to end my once in a lifetime experience in London. Â Mission complete! I have loved sharing my study abroad experiences with you all and I hope anyone who has the good fortune to study abroad jumps at the opportunity. Can you pack me in your suitcase?
Until next time, Collegiates.
XOXO
