On Sept. 7, indie pop band almost monday played an intimate show at DC9, so intimate that lead singer Dawson Daugherty could reach out and take a few BeReals for fans. The crowd was eager to get almost monday all to themselves after discovering the trio as an opener for AJR at The Anthem in January 2020. Since then, the band has racked up an impressive number of major music festivals, including Governors Ball, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo and Firefly. Springing off of a summer tour with Driver Era as a supporting act, almost monday finally ventured out on their own with this DC show and two other east coast stops. With promising momentum, maybe a full U.S. tour is in the cards for this band on the rise.
