Instead of Disney shows like Good Luck Charlie, we had Lizzie McGuire, That’s So Raven and Sabrina the Teenage Witch….
They told us how we should handle ourselves and complain.
They gave us great phrases.
And they showed us what we wished our lives could be like.
Instead of One Direction, we had the old school boy bands like *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys and 98 Degrees.
Â
Instead of some of the idols kids today have, we had the great Olsen Twins…
Though they didn’t necessarily turn out how we expected, how could you not miss their theme song? Their video games, adventure movies and other merchandise helped us get through our early years.

Instead of going on our iPad or iPhone and playing a game, we had physical games to play with.
Couldn’t have a pet? It didn’t matter, you had a Tomagachi.
If you wanted to play a game with your friends, you could pull out your Bop It.
Didn’t want the Animal Band or Mighty Beanz you got? You could go to school and trade them with your friends.
Â
Instead of taking online quizzes to find out what profession you could be, you would just find out your future playing M*A*S*H with friends.
Instead of going online for Facebook…we had better things to be doing because the Disney Channel website was the place to be.
Whether you were more into Kim Possible burrito making, or That’s So Raven Basketball, or accidentally killing off your Neopets, there was something for everyone.
And Instead of the Common Core education system, we learned from Bill Nye the Science Guy and The Reading Rainbow.
