Have some extra time this semester to kick back and enjoy a good book? Here’s where to start if you’re looking for something fresh to read!

Body Finder- Kimberly Derting

This book is great for anyone interested in mystery novels. The main character, Violet, has the amazing power to sense spirits of the dead and uses it to solve murders.

Harry Potter- J.K Rowling

Almost everyone either has read or at least knows about the Harry Potter Series. If you have not read it, then your missing out on a series of exciting adventures about a young boy whose destiny it is to defeat the most evil dark lord of all time!

Divergent- Veronica Roth

This one is a good read for people who like action and perilous journeys, with a hint of romance of course.

To Kill a Mocking Bird- Harper Lee

Just because it is a Classic doesn’t mean that it isn’t an invigorating and page turning story about a little girl in the deep south in the 1930’s.

1984- George Orwell

For anyone who likes Sci-fi or prediction novels, you should read this unsettlingly accurate prediction depicting George Orwell’s idea of how corruption and technology would progress in the world by 1984.

50 Shades of Grey- EL James

Lets just say that this book is good if you are by yourself and want to read about a really steamy romance.

Lord of the Flies- William Golding

This story is a good read if you want to read a humorous story about a group of affluent pre-teen boys trying to govern themselves while stuck on an island.

The Giver- Lois Lowry

This is an interesting story about what would occur in the world if everyone was exactly the same as everyone else. Would it be great, or the worst mistake?

The Things They Carried- Tim O’Brien

For those interested in nonfiction works, this book is one of the most invigorating things to read. Even if you don’t like nonfiction, if you give this one a chance you will be sucked into the story instantly.

Things Fall Apart- Chinua Achebe

A novel for those favoring world literature, this novel comes strait out of Africa and gives a unique persective on what it was really like when the “white man” was colonizing Africa in late 19th century.

Kim- Rudyard Kipling

This novel is for those who like to read about a smart elic trickster who is so smooth you can’t help but love him as he tricks and spies his way into trouble.
