Happy October and second week of autumn, collegiettes!

There are certain signs around town and around our campus that instantly remind us it’s fall once again here in the high country.

The temperature drops significantly in a day, then rises the next. Hey, afterall, it’s Boone where we can experience every season over the course of a week.

Leggings. Leggings or tights with boots, and can be seen worn anywhere on campus. Flannel also makes an appearance around campus– paired with said leggings or tights. Why? Because leggings and flannel are cute and comfortable, that’s why.

Scarves. Scarves are a staple in our fall wardrobe. Oftentimes, they are worn with leggings and boots, but they can be worn with almost anything-sweatshirts, sweaters, t-shirts, dresses, etc.

Pumpkin everything. Get your pumpkin fix nearly anywhere in Boone. From the Wired Scholar on campus to Stick Boy and Espresso News, there’s a ton of great places in Boone to get pumpkin flavored goodies like lattes, muffins, even ravioli! (You can get that at Basil’s.)

And let’s not forget pumpkin decor. Get festive this season and decorate your apartment or dorm with some seasonal wreaths or candles.

Apple cider is back!

App State football. Everyone loves a good tailgate, right? Go Mountaineers!

Fall break is only a couple weeks away, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Fallen, crunchy leaves underneath every hammocker and every foot that walks across Sanford Mall. Oh, what a beautiful sight it truly is.

The view as we’re walking to classes, work, back to our residence halls or hiking up one of our favorite hiking places, like Rough Ridge, is unlike any other.

From the weather, clothes, drinks, anything pumpkin, football games and tailgates or the beautiful sites of the changing leaves on the mountain, we know what fall means up here in Boone and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
