6 Amazing DIY Pumpkin Designs

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at App State chapter.

It’s that time of year again, Halloween! To celebrate we have six amazing DIY pumpkin decorating ideas that will have everyone noticing your amazing style.

Glam Pumpkins

Do you know what every pumpkin needs? Glitter. Glam pumpkins are so pretty and there are so many ways to make them your own. Maybe you like rhinestones. Perhaps you are a stocking person, or maybe you are that one friend who is happy to just dump a bucket of glitter on your pumpkin. Whatever it is a glam pumpkin is the perfect way to express your creativity while staying cute.

Theme Pumpkins

There are some pumpkins that everyone recognizes and loves, particularly character themed pumpkins. Who are your favorite characters? Are you a classic Mickey and Minnie person, or are you more about the modern day designs like Minions?

Pattern Pumpkins

Pattern pumpkins are so easy and quick, yet they look so creative and chic. Plus there is no set pattern that you have to follow. Try creating your own pattern using different styles and colors of fabric.

Chalkboard Pumpkins

Have you ever wanted to write something on your pumpkin, but not been sure how? Chalkboard pumpkins are the perfect solution! Just paint your pumpkin, then once it dries you can write whatever you want to on it. Changed your mind? No problem, just erase what you’ve already written and write or draw something else

Pumpkin Animals

Pumpkin animals are really cool, really creative, and so easy to do. Just think of an animal, like a classic Halloween spider or something more common like a dog. You can create pumpkin animal masterpieces

Cookie Cutter Pumpkins

Last but not least are the cookie cutter pumpkins. Despite their name, these pumpkins are anything but ordinary. They are also so simple to make. All you need is an assortment of cookie cutters (Halloween themed or otherwise) and either a lot of strength or a mallet to help you along.

Happy pumpkin carving!
