Dos and Don’ts of Recruitment Fashion

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at App State chapter.

Going through recruitment can be exciting, scary, and a life-changing experience. Focusing on conversation topics can be much easier when you aren’t stressing about your outfit. I remember spending hours freshman year picking out outfits to wear for each round of recruitment with no idea what I was doing. 3 years later, I am the Recruitment Chair of Chi Omega and I hate seeing girls go through recruitment wearing clothing they clearly look uncomfortable in or shoes they can’t walk in. Hopefully this guide will help make one aspect of recruitment a little bit less stressful.

1st Round: Display

DO wear shorts or jeans.

DON’T wear a cocktail dress.

DO wear comfortable sandals.

DON’T wear brand new clothes.

DO dress casually.

DON’T pick your clothes based on brand or designer.
