As the 2016 Presidential Election comes to a close (thank God), we’re not only gaining a new president, but we’re losing our current one. President Obama has been with us for eight years now, and it’s going to be hard to let him go. We’ve, arguably, never had a president as hip and cool as Barack Obama. He’s been on Ellen and SNL, and how could we forget him getting Queen B to perform at his Inauguration in 2013! So here’s a farewell to President Obama as well look back on his best moments:
When he let a little boy touch his hair
The little boy wanted to see if the POTUS’ hair felt the same as his. Of course President Obama didn’t hesitate in answering the boy’s question.
Obama with kids in general
Can our kids take a selfie with Obama?
Like that time he met Prince GeorgeÂ
The little prince was the cutest thing in the world when he met the president. Of course President Obama was very impressed with his dashing attire.Â
His dance moves… …that he obviously gets from his wife
While Barack may have some moves of his own, we must say his wife has got him beat!
That time he was just too cool for his job
Because if you’re the POTUS you have to have some fun once in a while with yourself.
When he finally released the video of his birthYes, this did actually happen. Clap back, Obama, clap back!
When he read Where the Wild Things Are to a group of kids
He got very into it, obviously.
That time he was you during a meeting
He was over the bullshit just like you.
When he cried after Sandy Hook
He let his emotions out when talking about the tragedy, just like all of us on that horrible day.Â
When he got his Twitter account
And his Twitter has been on point ever since.
Then when he read mean tweets
DAAAAMMMMMNNNNN, OBAMA!
When he wasn’t afraid to call out Donald Trump…again
He’s just keeping it real.
When he felt real world strugglesEven the president experiences real world struggles… like a cookie not fitting into a milk glass. #ThanksObama
His comebacks
But seriously, can Obama have a third term?
His relationship with VP Joe Biden
Let’s be honest, there will probably never be a bromance between presidents like there was between Obama and Biden.
“I tease Joe sometimes, but he has been at my side for seven years, I love that man,” said President Obama. “He’s not just a great vice president, he is a great friend. We’ve gotten so close in some places in Indiana, they won’t serve us pizza anymore.”
His love for Michelle Obama
We hope that someday we can have a relationship like the Obama’s have.
“We have a ritual where he tucks me in, because I’m usually in bed before anybody,” the First Lady spilled. “He’ll come and turn the lights out and give me a kiss, and we’ll talk. He’s like, Ready to be tucked? I’m like, Yes I am.'”
The mic drop
Yes, he really did that.
Whoever our next president may be, we can say that President Obama was one of the greatest. Thanks for the past eight years, President Obama, and for keeping it real with us. The White House will never be the same again.
Are we sure President Obama can’t serve a third term?
