Want to add an extra pop to your fall ensemble? Try one of these fierce nail trends that is sure to transform your look from your head, right down to your fingertips!
Long and ladylike — According to New York Fashion Week, short nails are no longer in. Zac Posen’s models were presented with long, unpolished nails. Who said nails have to be polished for them to look trendy?
Â
Cool tones – Dark blues, greens, and greys are all the rage this fall. OPI’s new “Touring America” collection encompasses these colors.  Check out OPI’s “Road House Blues,” it is a lovely navy perfect for autumn.
Â
Reverse French Manicure – Fashion Week got creative this September, and came out with the reverse French manicure trend. Don’t be afraid to go bold and try out this new look!
Â
Maroons – Escape summer’s candy-apple red, and go with maroons. The Fall collection from Essie has the perfect polish, “Carry On.” This shade looks good on any skin tone and is a must-have for every stylish chick!
Â
Two-Tone Nails – Another great idea is two-toned nails. Prabal Gurung set the mood for his Spring line with this imaginative nail design. Choose two colors of the same family, such as lavender and a deep purple. Start by painting the whole nail with the lighter color, then go over only part of the nail with the darker shade – similar to the reverse French manicure.

Taupe – This color can be found in every fall nail collection. Look for “A-taupe the Space Needle” in OPI’s “Touring America” line (which is the shade I am currently wearing).  Or in the Essie Fall collection, you can choose “Glamour Purse” for a classic, yet chic look.
Â
Purples – This is not only a color of royalty, but a fabulous fall hue. Personally, I have always loved purples because there is a shade for every season. Go for a deep purple such as “Midnight in Moscow” by OPI or “It’s Genius” for a pretty plum by Essie.
Â
OmbréManicure – We all know about this as a hair trend, but it has now moved onto nails. With so many great Fall nail collections, why not use two colors at once? Designer Jen Kao used black fading into a cobalt blue.
Clean and Simple – Some people believe simple nails are boring, but Tory Burch has made them fabulous. Try sheer colors like Essie’s “Mademoiselle” for a classic and elegant nail. Just think – it will go with everything!
