How to Wear One Shirt Four Different Ways

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at App State chapter.

If you are anything like me, and by that I mean a college fashionista on a budget, then the chances that you will have to re-wear a shirt one, two, even three or four times are very likely. I recently purchased my new favorite shirt, and I’ve already worn it multiple times. As ASU students, there are many different occasions to dress for, so here are four very different scenarios that just one shirt could be appropriate for:

Scenario 1: Going to class

Going to class calls for a casual outfit. I like to wear Nike shorts and a tee as much as the next girl, but occasionally you have to remind your classmates that you actually have a wardrobe besides workout clothes. For this look, I am pairing the shirt with shorts and my TOMS; this outfit is simple and appropriate.

Scenario 2: Lunch date

Whether you are meeting a professor, friend, or even the cute boy that sits next you in Chemistry, lunch dates give you a reason to dress up (but don’t overdo it). Lunch outfits need to remain semi-casual, but they give you a chance to show off your personality. For this look I am pairing tangerine skinnies with the same shirt, but tying the bottom to give it a different look. Unbutton the bottom two buttons and simply tie to the two pieces together for a fun, flirty option. Pair with flats or wedges, and you are ready to go! This look is also great because it can be worn into fall as the new season approaches.

Scenario 3: A day in the great outdoors

So you are off to a day on the parkway with good friends or maybe a date and you want to look good for two hypothetical reasons: 1. To impress the boy or 2. You have that one friend who insists on taking pictures (even if you look bad). Since the weather is constantly changing in Boone, I recommend layers for your adventure. Get out your Chaco’s, leggings, and a tank top- then throw this shirt over it for a lightweight jacket and you’re good to go!

Scenario 4: Going out

Alright, you’ve made it through class, lunch, and even a hike, but you’re still determined to get one more outfit out of this shirt. No need to worry, it can easily be dressed up for a night on the town. Tuck the shirt into a skirt and add some heels or wedges; now your daytime shirt has quickly been transformed for the night.
