As much as it pains me to say it, there is simply no more denying it: I am a senior. And in 8 short months I will be graduating and leaving this place that I have grown to call home over the past 3 years. I know that, when I enter the real world, there will be a lot less nights that I stay out until 2 or 3 o’clock in the morning, a lot less Saturdays spent tailgating at Duck Pond with my friends, a lot less running on 3 hours of sleep, a lot less sleeping in and skipping class, a lot less freedom and a whole lot more responsibility.
But, let’s be honest, who really cares about all of that right now? Right now, I am a senior and I fully intend to live it up for one last year before I enter the scary unknown that is “true adulthood”.
So, before all of us HerCampus App State seniors kick the college bucket, here are all of the things that we intend to do:
• Dress like a true football fan to an Appalachian State football game (Yes, this means we are ditching the dresses and rolling out the body paint.)
• Visit Kompression Falls and jump off of all three levels. Yikes!
• Hike Grandfather Mountain
• Have a drink at every bar in Boone, not necessarily all in one night
• Attend Paolucci’s 1-2-3 night
• Talk my way into the club/suite seats at a football game (Don’t worry y’all; I can cross this one off after last weekend.)
• Go on a spur-of-the-moment trip, whether it be Nashville, Charleston, Atlanta or anywhere in-between!
• Attend other Appalachian sporting events and show my school spirit
• Drive down the mountain for a night at Bo’s Entertainment Center. Laser tag anyone?
• Eat at Daniel Boone Inn. (As crazy as it seems, I have never been there.)
• Attend an Art Crawl
• Dance the night away at Char on a Thursday night
• Steal an App waffle maker
• Get kissed at Howard’s Knob
• Walk up Stadium Drive without getting short of breath…yes, it still happens.
• Sled down Suicide Hill
• Go to Taco Tuesday
• Go to the Land of Oz
• Visit Mystery Hill
• Attend a Wooly Worm Festival
• Splurge on boots from Gladiola Girls
• Have the BEST senior year of all time!
