This is Nick Miller, the endearingy aimless dude-bro on New Girl.
When he’s not working at the bar or writing his zombie novel, Nick is finding happiness by literally doing nothing.Â
As fall and cold weather approach us in Boone, we could all stand to learn a few lessons in laziness from the king himself, Mr. Nick Miller.
When you walk into your building after the first day of truly cold weather
Over the past few weeks in Boone, we’ve experienced that weird type of weather where it’s chilly in the morning and sweltering by midday. However, as annoying as this may be, none of us will really be prepared for that first day of actually cold weather with the wind that will knock you off of your feet.
And then you finally get used to walking in the cold and own the fall fashion
Most of us say that we hate the cold, but fall is the best time for fashion if we’re really being honest. Layering provides so many opportunities to show your trendy side.
When you watch too many horror movies in preparation for Halloween
One of the best parts of fall is the plethora of scary movies and TV shows that are on. From American Horror Story, to 13 Nights of Halloween, to movies like Lights Out and the Ouija sequel, October is synonymous with being terrified.
When it feels too cold to leave the house…
Cold weather gives Netflix and chill a whole new meaning.
…and then your diet goes down the drain
Fall and winter are the perfect excuses to stay in and get lazy about cooking. Sure, cold weather is a great time to bake pumpkin pies and make warm soup… but hey, Boone Takeout can also bring food from just about any restaurant in town!
After a while, you can start feeling the effects of eating so much and doing so little
But I mean no one really needs a summer beach body in the fall, right?
Next thing you know, you won’t want to go outside even to go out on a Friday night
Why dress up for a night on the town when you can stay indoors and binge watch Game of Thrones?
But then, the dreaded finals come out of absolutely nowhere…
At least being stuck inside means there is plenty of time to study!
Fortunately, finals week means that it’s almost the best time of the year!
After finishing finals, celebrate the start of winter break and the holiday season with baking, decorating, and relaxing (and maybe some spiked eggnog).
Dealing with cold weather might be tough, but if we’ve learned anything from Nick Miller, it’s to handle everything with a laugh and a bit of sarcasm.
