Okay, so, I know it’s technically spring and this might seem out of place. But we live in Boone for goodness sakes. There’s a good chance snow will be coming again. If you’re like me, though, snow days aren’t as great as they seem when it’s 2 o’clock and I’ve already run out of things to do. Here are some tips to get you through the day and leave you feeling productive.
Find a new show on Netflix
· Ask some friends that you know are into the same stuff you are and get started! Soon you’ll get hooked and not even notice the time passing.
Do a DIY mani
· Finally do all that Pinterest nail care stuff that takes forever and isn’t worth the time when you’re having a busy week. Your nails will thank you!
On that note, do all the spa stuff you’ve wanted to try!
· Some of those at home facemasks are pretty incredible. Take a long hot shower and don’t feel guilty about it. It’s spa day!
Cook a good meal!
· Cooking a time consuming, yummy meal isn’t always a priority during the week when you’ve got a million things to do. But when you’re bored stuck at home all day, it’s the perfect way to get your house smelling good and make your stomach (and roomies) happy. You probably even have time to make dessert!
Have a game night (or day!) with your roomies and neighbors
· When’s the last time you all just sat around laughing at nonsense? Break out that old board game, or, find one online if you didn’t bring them to school with you. You’ll probably make some new inside jokes before the game is even halfway over.
Read a good book. Or reread one you loved before!
· I know you all have books sitting on your shelf collecting dust waiting for you to pick up instead of a textbook. Snow days are nature’s way of saying: today is the day to open that novel. If you’ve read them all, reread your favorites and get filled with the warm fuzzies of a good book all over again.
Call your grandparents
· It sounds silly, but I know they tend to go on forever when you call them out of the blue, which makes for a great excuse to never do it when you’re busy. Trust me, it’ll make their day and eat up a lot of your time.
Write down your favorite memories of the year so far
· Another silly one, but I’m sure you won’t regret it a year from now when you’re looking for a little nostalgia and gratitude.
