#1: Your Crew

Everyone misses their high school crew. Whether you were the band geeks, jocks, nerds, popular girls, goths, and even the outcasts. You still had a crew you could always count on. In college you are on your own… and you’re lucky if you find a group of people you can genuinely trust and count on, ESPECIALLY your freshman year.

#2: A Tentative Schedule

Honestly, this one goes either way. If you think about it, yeah its awesome to have different classes everyday and at different times. But it also makes balancing your classes and what day which assignment is due… SO much more difficult. Sometimes I wish my professors were like my awesome high school teachers that knew me personally and took pleasure in making fun of me and my classmates because they actually knew who we were. Not to mention reminding me everyday what was due when and where.

#3: Easy Work

Do you remember complaining about your senior project and how much work it was? Yeah, me too. Except I think the majority of us made up at least half of the work and presentation. Unfortunately, in college… every project is 10 times as hard as our senior projects on yoga or dj-ing or cake decorating, that dreaded oh so much.

#4: The 12th man and the 6th man

By this of course I mean the football games and the basketball games and any event that your class just went wild with spirit. Whether you were on the field, playing the trumpet, dancing on the sideline, or yelling in the massive crowd that smelt like nacho cheese and popcorn, you loved it. How could you not? One town, one team… Am I right? Even when you lost, you walked into your house with a grin on your face after you and your friends finished dinner at whatever diner or sports grill that everyone went to after every game because it was fun.

#5: Everyone knew Everyone

Do you ever miss parking your car at 7:30 in the morning (so tired) and hopping out of your car and always having someone to walk in with because there were 500 others parking their car? Then by the time you were walking into the building you were with another 5 people because they caught up. High School was awesome because everyone knew everyone… you didn’t have to explain who you were and where you are from to everyone because everyone already knew. Some might also say this was the worst part of high school because they may have spent all of high school pretending to be someone they really weren’t… but if you are one of those people that doesn’t mean you don’t ever miss the days when things were easier.

High School was the best and the worst time of our life… but man do I miss it sometimes.Â
