Social House Kitchen and Pub (SOHO) is hosting their weekly “college night” starting at 10 p.m. tonight! They offer $1 Pabst Blue Ribbon, $2 house shots, and other drink specials in a “social atmosphere” complete with a DJ.
The restaurant originally opened its doors in late August following a two-week conversion from Sam Hughes Place Championship Dining. It remains locally owned and resides at 446 N. Campbell Ave.
SOHO’s tagline is “pub food for foodies,” which is described by server Sandy Hand as, “high quality food at good prices.” The menu is chef-driven and puts a gourmet spin on classic pub foods.
The atmosphere is really fun. It has an industrial look, and a large bar and television, setting the “pub scene.” While the color scheme and décor of the restaurant is upscale and modern. And although the bar is a great place for socializing, there are also intimate booths available.
The menu has recently been revamped, and is now strongly driven by the restaurants tagline and emphasis on high-quality pub food, according to local restaurateur and Social House consultant Brian Metzger. He highlights the importance of putting the product first and said, “We think that food drives business, our focus is food.”
There are several different menus featured at Social House, including lunch, dinner, social hour, and late eats. According to Hand the most popular menu item is the SoHo salad. “It’s unbelievable,” said Hand. “It is my favorite thing on the menu.” While Metzger said the SOHO burger, made with Kobe beef, and the house nachos, featuring homemade in-house chorizo are the most well liked items.
Other weekly deals include Burger Madness Monday and Taco, Tecate and Tequila Tuesday. It also has a social hour menu featured every day from three to seven. With discounted drinks, appetizers, select entrees, and crispy lobster tacos that are to die for!
