Devils, and nurses, and sailors oh my! It is that time of year again where students at the University of Arizona use their fun and creative side to dress up in killer costumes and have a good time. Although Halloween is always a spooky and exciting holiday to celebrate, it is also important to remember that ones safety should always come first. Here are a few tips to keep in mind while partaking in all of the festivities of this weekend.
1.    Always watch your drink
Meeting new people is always a blast, but the truth is you probably will not know everyone at the party you are at. Never leave your drink unattended. If you do, do not drink from it again and get another drink.
2.    Have a designated “wingman” or “wingwoman”
Because you will probably be looking absolutely stunning, you will have definitely caught the eyes of many guys. However, if a guy is making you uncomfortable, always make sure to have a trusted friend be there and ready to step in if needed.
3.   Establish ride situations beforehand.
The last thing you want to worry about at the end of the night is how you are getting home. The best way to avoid this problem is to make sure you know who it is that is taking you home as well as how you are getting there. If plans concerning your ride situation change, that is totally fine. Just make sure you get home safely.
4.   Make sure you have all your belongings
From your phone to your keys, double check that you have them with you or you know where you left them. Don’t be that girl that has a panic attack because they lost something at a party or that girl that cannot go home because she is locked out of her house and cannot find her keys.
5.   Use good judgment
If something does not feel right or seem right, it probably is not. Listen to your instincts and make smart and safe decisions. After all, your choices and your actions do have consequences.
