Life is made of moments

Life…it can be seen in so many ways, right? A metaphorical journey, a

powerful story, or a cosmic imaginative idea beyond reality.

In whichever way one chooses to see  life, there is a powerful ideology I have believed in my

heart, which has resurged into a growing passion, it has ignited an

unbelievable fire in my very existence – the difference between living

Living  and being Alive.

Being alive is simply that.

Just passively engaging in life.

Feeling like the days are going by in a blur…never actually enjoying the here and now.

Living life? That’s a completely different story. In a show that I

watched, there was one line there that I will never forget,“Life is made up of moments – good or bad ones but they’re all worth living.”

Life is created through moments. Every moment in Life is precious

and it is the moments in this rollercoaster of a ride called ‘life’ that

makes this entire journey worth living. I want to be clear, Living Life

is not skydiving or snorkeling once a week. It can be just reading a

Book, laugh with your family or even take a walk.

I have many goals in my Life but they all lead to an ultimate end –

that when I am sitting on my deathbed taking my last few breaths, I

have no regrets. I want to feel like I have done justice to every

moment of Life. I want to feel proud of the Life that I have lead

because Life is a rare gift.

I am thankful to be bestowed with the honor of being present in a

Place that is so beautiful. It’s a topic seldom talked about but in the depths

of the night, a conversation like this is one I hope to engage in with

my peers.

Even starting College is a very new Chapter in my Life. To have to

leave Kolkata – the hub of Bengali tradition and culture and stepping into the World will not be an easy transition. I am very nervous for sure and the nostalgia increases with each passing moment.

I will miss my Mother’s smiling face as she stands at that door too

scared to disturb me as I am studying with full concentration, my

father’s smiles and warm hugs, my grandparents’ love and care, and my

maasi’s friendly teasing.

I will miss my crazy friends and all our conversations and

moments.

Yet, I also feel in me an excitable urge to see what lies ahead and to

cherish new moments in life as I have to move forward in life once

again.

I will certainly cherish the old ones – the loud bhojpuri songs sung in between classes, the joy and pride of taking part in competitions learning something invaluable from each of them, the endless banter and conversations with the wonderful people around me that made time itself halt, made the minutes that ticked by feel inconsequential to the feeling of warmth and comfort through that person – those are the moments I want and hope to cherish.

From not wanting to go to School to feeling tearful to bid farewell to

it, from being a shy young boy to winning national public speaking

competitions, from being lonely to having so many wonderful friends

Whom I will dearly miss. Perhaps the most powerful line to me in the world

– Life is made of moments.
