In October, We Wear Pink

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at ASU chapter.

October is breast cancer awareness month, and there are pleny of ways for you to show your support!

Wear pink.

Pink ribbons are the symbol of breast cancer awareness, so people are encouraged all throughout the month of October to wear pink to show their support. So whether it’s pink nails, a pink shirt, a pink ribbon in your hair, a cute pink ASU lanyard for your keys, or anything else, make sure you’re reppin’ some pink throughout the month to spread awareness and show support.

Paint a pink awareness pumpkin.

Decorating pumpkins is one of the best parts of October, and it’s something that people look forward to every year. So instead of just doing the stereotypical Jack-O-Lantern faces, why not paint a pumpkin or two pink for Breast Cancer Awareness?

Make some cute pink snacks next time you and your friends hang out.

Food is one of the most important parts of a hangout with friends, so this is the perfect chance to show some support. By utilizing some pink food coloring, you can make some super cute (and delicious!) snacks. For example, try this “Pink Trash Popcorn” recipe.

Get active.

During the month of October, there are plenty of opportunities to walk, jog, or run in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. So get out there, get active and run for the cause!

Check yourself!

Make sure that you are completing your monthy self-checkup so that if you do happen to find something unusual, it can be caught early on. Make sure you remind the women that are important in your life to do the same as well!
