10 Bullet Journal Page Ideas for the New Year

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Auburn chapter.

The new year has finally arrived, and with it our new year’s resolutions. Most of us use the excuse of the new year to improve our habits, eat healthier, exercise more, be happier… you know where I’m going. And the bullet journal method is an ideal way to keep track of those resolutions and goals that we want to achieve this upcoming 2019!

Here are some page ideas to create in your bullet journal for the new year:

1. Travel

A common goal for the new year is to travel more. Keeping track of the places you have been or the places you want to visit can help to motivate you. Marking down when is your next trip or where you would like to go is useful to keep yourself focus on your goals and dreams!

2. Books to read

At the end of the year, we often realize that we haven’t been able to do many of the things that we wanted to. Busy schedules, work, homework can keep us from doing thinks like reading a book that might have seen once at a bookstore, or that a friend recommended to us. You can keep track of books you have read or would like to read, so when you have a moment to do so, you can easily go back and remember which one is next on the list.

3. Grades

If you are still in school or college, keeping track of your grades can be something that is helpful. If you are happy with your grades, this can help to motivate you and keep you studying hard. If you are not so happy with them, you can follow your progress and work hard to improve it.

4. Wishlist

Another new year’s resolution for some of us is to not buy things that we don’t really need. So, keeping track of the things that you want and the things that you really need can help you prioritize what to buy.

5. Routine

Having written down what your ideal routine would look like is a good way to start making it happen. By writing it down you will know what you are supposed to be doing at a particular time of the day, and that can help you focus on your daily goals. Also, you can be more specific about the kind of routine you need to follow. It could be a skincare routine, daily routine, a routine to fall asleep…

6. Study or Productivity

Following up on the routine idea… keeping track of your study habits, your productivity time, etc. can help you to see better how you are using your time. Sometimes we can spend an entire day “studying” when we are actually doing many other things or getting distracted. If you keep track of the specific moments when you are studying or being productive, you will feel better with yourself and maybe discover when is your optimal productive time of the day!

7. Sleep Tracker

Some people have an easy time getting the amount of sleep hours that they need. Some have a harder time, and keeping track of the hours you get is a good way to try to solve this problem. Finding good sleep habits can be a great solution.

8. Yearly Goals

This can be yearly goals, monthly goals, or lifetime goals. You decide! Having a reminder of what we want to achieve is a good way to motivate us and keep us pursuing it. Writing down your goals can be a great start to making them happen.

9. Fitness Tracker

The most classic new year’s resolution is to exercise or be healthier. After a full month eating with family and forgetting our routine habits, getting back in shape is a common goal in January. A fitness tracker is a good way to follow our progress and motivate us to keep going even when it gets hard.

10. Mood Tracker

Mood trackers are an easy way to do a holistic assessment of how are we feeling and, then, to make changes about it. On a daily basis we may not notice that we are angry, sad, happy, excited, nervous,… but if you keep track of it, at the end of the month you can assess how you are doing and what can be changed, or not, for the next month.
