Major: Elementry Education
Number: My number has always been 10, but I don’t know what I will be this season until we get the jerseys in!
Position: I play libero, which is your defense specialist or left back, just depending on the game. Also we already have two awesome liberos that are a senior and junior.
How long have you been playing volleyball? I started taking lessons in the fourth grade, then started playing club volleyball at IMPACT in Nashville TN. I played club volleyball from 6th grade to the 11th grade. My senior year I was given the opportunity to coach my own team made up of a group of 6-8th grade girls playing for Club West. I also played high school volleyball, and I was the first person in Rossview history to letter all four years (meaning I played only varsity since freshman year). Junior and senior year I made the All-District Team. Senior year I was team captain and made the Leaf Chronicle team (local newspapers picks their top players), and I was also was selected player of the game. My senior year we also won regionals which was the second time in school history.
How is the season going so far? We placed second at our first tournament at Clemson, and first at our second tournament at UT Chatt!
Where do you and the team travel? Clemson, UT Chatt, Emory, FSU, and we will have our own home tournament November 2nd.
Does traveliling for away games get in the way with your schoolwork? We get a university excused notes for our classes on Friday, but normally most of us can make it to all of our classes before we start traveling.
When and where do you practice? We practice from 7-9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the new Rec Center.
What else are you involved in on campus? I just recently volunteered at Joyland Daycare through IMPACT, and will continue to do that as much as I can, but I have a busy schedule normally.
What are your plans with volleyball for the rest of college? I plan to play all four years at Auburn!
What are your volleyball plans after you graduate? It’s always been a goal and dream of mine to open my own volleyball club wherever elementary education takes me to live, and I would also like to coach high school.
