If there is one thing we can all agree on, it’s that football season is the most exciting time in Auburn. Being at a game in Jordan-Hare Stadium is an experience all its own, with the lights, music, and cheering! Courtney Vanoy gets to experience that excitement first hand–she and her fellow bandmates know exactly how to get a crowd going!Â

What instrument do you play? I play piccolo for the marching band.
Do you play anything else besides the piccolo? I also play flute, but I’m not playing flute in any college bands
Which one is your favorite? The piccolo is my favorite; it’s just fun to play!
What made you want to try out for the marching band? I’ve wanted to be in the Auburn University Marching Band since 9th grade, when I first joined marching band in high school. There was just something about the AUMB that I loved and dreamed of being a part of one day.
How has your first year on the marching band been? I’ve absolutely adored my first year of band! My favorite part was running out of the tunnel for the first time in pregame. It’s an amazing feeling, doing something that I have always wanted to do
What’s the most fun part about it? Â The other band members really make the band. I love the environment, the hard work, and the satisfaction of bringing the stadium to life every Saturday.Â
