Major: Industrial Engineering with a minor in Business
Age: 20
Relationship Status: Single
What are you involved in on campus? I’m on the club Ultimate Frisbee team, work a co-op position, and am in the Honors College
What is your ideal woman? She’s kind enough that people spend time with her and come away happy, smart enough that she’s able to shut me up every once in a while, and pretty enough that I’ll never get tired of just looking at her.
What is your ideal date? Nothing fancy. Dinner at a restaurant like Acre downtown, a walk in the park at night, and then some time spent alone together, maybe watching a movie.
What can a girl do to get your attention? Blowing an airhorn in front of me, slapping a professor in face, or hijacking a Tiger Transit bus would all work. — Oh wait, you meant in a way that I’d be attracted to her. In that case, it’s pretty hard to ignore a girl who proves she has the confidence and initiative to approach me first. Although I’ve had a few professors where slapping them in the face would still work.
Biggest turn off/turn on? Turn off – when a girl can’t talk about anything but herself. Turn on – a girl who’s not afraid to express herself, rather than just blend into the crowd.
Celebrity Crush? Anna Kendrick. Pitch Perfect may or may not be my guilty pleasure movie.
What is one thing that people don’t know about you? I grew up overseas in Sumatra, Indonesia. A large part of who I am today is shaped by that experience.
What are your post-graduate plans? I’ll work in engineering for a few years, maybe try to get a job abroad. Germany is a great option. Then I’ll pursue a graduate degree in business.
What would you consider your best attribute? There’s a freckle on my left forearm that is the most perfectly circular freckle you’ve ever seen. I’m very proud of that freckle.
What has been the most meaningful part of your time at Auburn? I got a picture with Tre Mason right when he got home from the SEC Championship, it’s pretty hard to beat that. But I’m willing to bank there are two moments that will beat it: when I graduate, and when I meet “the one.”
How would you describe the Auburn women of today? Let’s just be real—Auburn women are among the most beautiful to grace the country, nobody can deny that. But they’re so much more than that. Every girl I’ve met while here has been the perfect balance of class, while being able to let loose.
Describe your worst date ever: I ended up at her gay friend’s apartment, where she proceeded to mostly ignore me and I got hit on by another guy there. Nothing against gay guys, but I don’t swing that way, and I certainly didn’t anticipate a date ending up there!
Tell us about the most meaningful experience of your life: My grandpa passed away last month. He was never an easy man to please; being a literal rocket scientist, he had extremely high standards for all his children and grandchildren. But as he lay on his deathbed, I had one last chance to speak with him. I shared my plans for college and the rest of my life with him, as well as telling him one last time how much he meant to me. He wasn’t able to speak any more, but the very last interaction he had with me was to focus all his strength on giving me one last pat on the back. That moment is permanently etched in my memory, and still stirs up some very raw emotions when I share it.
