When you find yourself torn between hitting the gym and the catching the latest episode of Scandal, you don’t have to choose! You can still break a sweat without sacrificing your precious TV time. These 2-3 minute workouts focus on a different zones of the body each commercial break and, most importantly, get you off the couch and moving.

1-minute Lying Bent Knee Extensions

Start by lying on the floor with your knees bent in a 90-degree angle in the air. Slowly move your heels to the floor and back up again, making sure to keep your lower back planted on the floor. Do not put your arms under your back for support. Give yourself a a challenge by straightening your legs the whole time.

1-minute crunches

1-minute plank

Armchair dips

Start this one by sitting on the edge of your seat and placing your hands on either side of you. Walk your feet out until your butt is off the chair and lower yourself down as far as comfortable before slowly coming back up. Repeat 10-15 times.

Walkouts

If this is too hard when you start, try bending your knees slightly. Otherwise, try to keep your legs and back as flat as possible.

Jump rope/ jog in place

If you don’t have a jumprope, jog in place for two minute intervals. Doing four repetitions of this alone burn almost 111 calories!

Finish off your commercial break workout with a good cool down stretch. It can improve flexibility and prevent possible injuries.
