Now that Halloween has passed and the spooky festivities have gone with it, we can focus on a holiday that doesn’t get much love: Thanksgiving. Stuck in between Halloween and Christmas, it’s easy to think ahead and miss it completely. While we have to wait a few more weeks to enjoy the holiday and all the yummy food it brings to us, we don’t have to wait to get into the Thanksgiving mood.

One classic thing to do this month is re-live your childhood and watch “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.” While it isn’t on Netflix, it is on Youtube for you to enjoy!

Fall is the perfect time for photoshoots, especially cute leaf-throwing pictures like the one my friend took of me. While it might be too hot to stay in your long-sleeves and jeans, they can give the illusion that it isn’t 80 degrees outside in November.

Thanksgiving is about being thankful for what you have in life, so prepare for the big day by creating a Gratitude Jar. While the website suggests doing it throughout the year, you could modify it and do it just until Thanksgiving.

If you’re looking for an easy decoration for Thanksgiving that could last all fall, this leaf window accessory is perfect. It’s simple and requires only basic sewing skills (or you can use glue or tape if you don’t have enough time).

One of my favorite recipes this time of year is this one for Caramel Apple Pie Cookies. They are so sweet and gooey, perfect to go with some hot apple cider. Careful, they do stick together, so stacking them is not recommended.

Pumpkin-flavored things aren’t just good for Halloween! This recipe for Pumpkin Cheesecake Lasagna had my family saying I “won” Thanksgiving last year, so it’s safe to say it’s a big hit.

The last thing you need is a good fall playlist. Here are two from Spotify, but they have a lot more, and of course there are other places to hear similar ones.

When she isn't studying and working on Her Campus, she enjoys baking desserts, reading young adult fiction and watching Netflix (mainly Friends, The Office and The Great British Baking Show). Some of her favorite things include Disney, desserts and fluffy animals to cuddle. Cathlene aspires to write for a magazine once she graduates and hopefully move back to Los Angeles.
