How to Slay Friendsgiving

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Auburn chapter.

Whether you’re ready or not, the holiday season is upon us. Thanksgiving vacay is next week, which means no matter how many tests you have crammed in the next four days, a Friendsgiving is definitely in the works. Friendsgiving can be stressful trying to bring the most impressive dish while being on a budget and having close to no time to spare. Here are some of my favorite dish and decor ideas.

Dishes:

Roasted Fall Vegetables:

  • Heat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Throw on brussel sprouts, carrots, onions, sweet potatoes etc.
  • Drizzle olive oil.
  • Sprinkle salt and pepper.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes.

No Bake Apple Cookies

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, 2/3 cup smooth peanut butter, 1 cup shredded coconut, 1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice, 1 apple, diced into very small pieces
  • Mix all ingredients together except apple slices.
  • Once everything is mixed, add in the apples.
  • Shape into cookies and freeze for 20 minutes until hard.

Bacon Wrapped Asparagus

  • Heat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Wrap the asparagus in bacon.
  • Drizzle olive oil.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, flip them to the other side, bake for 10 more minutes.

Decor:

Pine Cone Place Cards

Killer Centerpiece (I’m talking pumpkins, candles and wood…. Get creative!)

Fall Colored Flowers (Look for the warm oranges and pinks)

I hope this helps inspire you so that you may slay Friendsgiving this year and every year!
