It’s like we’re having déjà vu, but I can guarantee that not a single Auburn student is complaining! Country superstar Luke Bryan recently announced Auburn as a stop on his eight-city Farm Tour 2012. He’ll be returning to the Plains on October 5th for a Rodeo-esque performance, complete with a pre-concert tailgate! This short tour for tailgaters is in honor of his third album Tailgates and Tanlines, the performances to crowds of tanliners taking place earlier this year during Spring Break.
The concert is being held at Adams Farm, the site of Alpha Psi’s Rodeo, and is actually pretty affordable for the poor college kid. General admission tickets for the show are only $30, but if you want some official Luke-approved merchandise you’ll have to spend a little more. A ticket and t-shirt bundle is $50, and throw a CD into the bundle for a total of $59. The Farm Tour is almost an all-day event, with a tailgate beginning at 2 PM before Luke takes the stage at 7. As expected, he’ll play all of his most popular songs (All My Friends Say, Do I, Country Girl (Shake it for Me) and Drunk on You) and show off his well-renowned dance moves. The concert is expected to be a huge success, with tickets already selling quickly.
The event is taking place on the same night as the one and only pep rally this year, which is now in conjunction with the always-popular UPC Fall Concert. SGA and UPC have yet to announce this year’s entertainment, but one thing is for sure—it’s going to have to be a pretty big act to compete with the talent and celebrity associated with the ever-popular Luke Bryan!
Tickets can be purchased at his website, www.lukebryan.com/farmtour.html, or you can buy your tickets at the door for an additional five dollars.
