On Saturday April 18th Auburn’s University Program Council hosted a super successful Corner Block Party. The concert was a hit not only with our students but also with the most of the community (though many of the citizens of Auburn are very upset with the explicit nature of the show). The stage was located in the heart of Auburn right on Toomer’s Corner. Nick Jonas, Nelly and Kesha all owned the stage in their own way, it was an interesting variety of performers, and just about everyone could enjoy at least one of them. As a student attending Auburn it was an amazing experience seeing such huge celebrities perform in our small college town. I’ve already made so many great memories in this town, and having them perform here just created even more. The concert was a huge hit, and everyone seemed to have a great time. We just have to thank our wonderful University Program Council for such an amazing A-day experience!
Nick Jonas kicked off the concert with music from his new album. There were many fan girls around who made it clear they were thrilled to see him live.
Nelly was the next to perform. He really got the crowd pumped up by performing so many of his best throwbacks including of course “Hot in Herre.” Nelly was sporting an Auburn t-shirt it was cool to seem him repping our school on stage!
Kesha went all out with her performance, and thankfully didn’t hold anything back. She came out decked in sparkles, and we wouldn’t have expected anything less. She had amazing energy and sang all of her top hits- with the crowd singing along. At one point the speakers blew out, and Kesha improvised by singing “Die Young” as the crowd sang along, it was definitely one of the best moments of the night!
