The time has come. Either a time to enjoy something special with your loved one or a time to celebrate your independence. Celebrating single-hood may consist of indulging in a ridiculous amount of cookies, brownies, and ice cream with your fellow single ladies. But with spring break coming before you know it, do you really want to eat an extra 2000 calories on Thursday? If you’re like me, you would rather find a yummy treat that “really isn’t that bad.” That’s where frozen bananas come in. This recipe seems to have taken Pinterest by storm, and being so curious about it, I tried it myself and Pinterest is not lying. It really does taste just like ice cream! To make this delicious and nutritious treat, follow the easy steps below.Â
Â
- Slice up 2 or 3 bananas into 1/3inch pieces, and freeze.Â
- Once frozen, put the bananas into a blender
- This part is personal preference. You can add as much or as little chocolate powder, peanut butter, and milk. Not too much milk though because you do not want it to be too liquidy. You can get creative with what you put into it besides the milk and bananas; those are essential.
- Blend them all together. This usually takes about 5 minutes. The frozen bananas may get stuck so I recommend stopping the blender every minute or so and scraping the sides with a spatula. Â
- When everything looks blended and has the consistency of ice cream, it’s done!

As you sit in front of the TV for at least three hours watching romantic comedies with our girlfriends, you can be confident in knowing that the sweet treat you are indulging in is pretty sweet. Sweet in the fact that you can have seconds or even thirds and not feel guilty! After all, it really is just a couple of bananas and some milk!
