The leaves are changing, the temperature is dropping, and pumpkins have found their way onto every porch in sight. Fall has settled on Augustana and the members of Her Campus celebrated the change on October 25th with an event called OctobHERfest.
Her Campus hosts an annual fundraiser in order to continue putting on events. This year, OctobHERfest offered apple cider, hot chocolate, many festive snacks, giveaways of products, pumpkin painting, and a roaring campfire complete with delicious s’mores. The entrance fee of $2 gave access to all of this, which was a steal for all the goodies available.
The products that were given away included Extra Gum, items from the Mary Kay Naturally™  skin care line, Emergen-C energy shots, Garnier leave-in conditioner, and Garnier facial cleanser.
Augustana’s SAGA magazine had a booth set up at the event as well. The SAGA Art and Literary Magazine accepts submissions from students on campus to be reviewed and possibly published. To submit art for review, please email sagamagazine@gmail.com.
Many members of Her Campus baked their own treats to give away for the event, which created a bonding experience for the group as a whole. It’s also a very satisfactory feeling to see the goods you’ve baked being enjoyed by others! The party was situated right at the base of the Slough on a chilly fall night and the mood was just right for some hot chocolate and s’mores.
Thank you to all who came out to support the hard-working members of Her Campus for OctobHERfest! It was a very fun night with many fantastic people.
