It’s that time of the year where everyone is feeling burnt out no matter their grade. Everyone in school is looking forward to summer. When feeling burnt out and tired of constantly doing homework it is easy to become discouraged and feeling burnt out. There are many things that have helped me push through being burnt out. At the end of the day, I always try to think about the positives that are going on in my life and the little things that I can look forward to. I think about how just in a couple of weeks, I will be able to enjoy most days with my friends, family, and loved ones. In preparation for finals week here are a couple of things that I try to do…

  • Getting my homework done ahead of time

  • Giving myself a break for at least an hour a day even when I am super busy

  • Ensuring that I am eating two to three meals a day

  • Drinking plenty of water to keep hydrated

  • Staying in touch with friends and family

  • Getting out of my house: going on a walk, sitting outside, or going for a drive

  • Stretching, yoga, or exercising to give my head a break

These are just some things that I do to prepare for finals weeks. Even throughout the busiest of days, I try to find the positives of things that happened that day. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t do these every single day, but every day I stay hydrated, eat three meals a day, and try to do some form of relaxation technique. Especially when I’m feeling burnt out I try to give myself more time. I rather do homework and assignments when I can focus rather than rush and not try my best. Through these daily things, I have been able to keep a clear and focused mind. With everything, there are going to be days that are easier and harder, but it’s the little things that you can do for yourself.
