Inspired by George Lucas films and cult classics, sophomore telecommunications major Ryan Shank has always had a love for video-making and film.
“It’s so much fun, and I love everything about making videos,” he said. “There’re so many ways to express yourself, your thoughts, your ideas – I love having a camera in my hands.”
Shank has been spending this semester at the Virginia Ball Center for Creative Inquiry creating a documentary film, and he’s also been working on multiple film shoots with his peers, as well. He is also a founder and director of Studio G, a film group that creates educational videos for the German Embassy.
“There’s a lot I still don’t know, but I’m excited and ready to learn as much as I can,” he said. “I’m hoping to learn as much as I can inside and outside of the classroom while I’m here.”
