ESPN’s College Gameday is coming to Waco this Saturday for the first time in four years, with people coming from far and wide to watch our undefeated 12th-ranked Baylor Bears play the OU Sooners. College Gameday, sponsored by Home Depot, is a huge deal for college students and college football fans alike! The last time College Gameday came to Waco was in 2015 when the Bears lost to the Sooners, but we’re much more hopeful for a better outcome after a comeback win against TCU last Saturday after a 3OT win that ended with a score of 29-23. Baylor remains the only undefeated team left in the Big 12.
Here are a few ways to prep for the game this Saturday!
If You’re Camping….
-
If you want to show your dedication and be there for the show, camping lines begin at 4 pm on Friday at Gate D, the day before the game. Don’t forget your Baylor ID or you won’t be let in! No more than 6 students are allowed in a tent.
Wake up Early!
- College Gameday is a big commitment; you need to wake up early and get a good breakfast to be energized for the rest of the day. The gates open at 5pm and kickoff is at 6:44 pm, so be there early, even if you’re not camping out for the show!
Show School Spirit!
- Look your best and wear green and gold! Go crazy and rep BU with the best merch and props you can find. Shops to look at: Barefoot Waco, Walmart, Party City and Dollar General.
Make Signs for Gameday
- College Gameday is all about making signs to be noticed on TV! Be clever about what you write and make sure it catches the eye! Although creative signs are encouraged, understand that signs that don’t follow the rules will get confiscated. They’re also a good memento to keep after the game!
